Mephiles (Male, Demon)- Spoke with victim prior to murder.
Tikal (Female, Echidna)- Had a relationship with victim.
Chapter 3: Shade-on for the People
["OBJECTION!!!" appears on-screen as Silver shouts it]
Silver: Your honor, Tikal the Echidna is a liar, and a murderer, and I can prove it!
Tikal: Oh, this should be good. Excuse me, mister Silver dude? Could you let your accomplice answer this one? For one, she's much more intelligent than you.
SShade: It's all right, Silver. Trust me, I should do this to prove a point.
Silver: Um... all right?
SShade: Miss Tikal. Your side of the story is that you and Knuckles get along smoothly. Knuckles holds a grudge against Amy Rose. You have a water-tight alibi.
Tikal: Yes.
SShade: Well, here's the REAL side of the story for EVERYONE in this room.
Hammer for a Turnabout (Conclusion)
The way you described how Amy and Knuckles act with each other, it sounds less like a grudge, and more like a relationship.
Typical puppy love, as one might say. Of course, you KNEW that, didn't you? You knew it, and you wanted revenge. But, if you
killed Amy, Knuckles would find out and leave you. So, you decided to do the opposite.
At first, I thought you came to his apartment when he least expected it, holding a Piko Piko hammer. But, you just couldn't
get a good angle, could you? So, while you were looking for the perfect spot to get him, you knocked you out. You fell face-
down on the floor, Knuckles took the hammer into the bedroom, and that's when Mephiles showed up. He saw you and mistook you
for Knuckles. When he left, you woke up, and Knuckles came out of the bedroom. After that, it's a little fuzzy, until I
asked myself, "Why was the bedroom door locked?" and I realized the truth.
Obviously, there was someone else in there! Someone whom Knuckles returned to after knocking you out. I also realized...
you didn't bring the Piko Piko hammer, did you? After all, where would you get it from? So, I realized the ACTUAL truth.
You came to his apartment not for revenge, but to make up. ...or out. Either one. You crept up to his bedroom door, and
heard HER. Amy Rose. That's when you got mad. Then you wanted revenge! You heard his cell phone beep, but it was in the
Living Room, NOT the Bedroom, wasn't it? You answered, and guess who it was? That's right. Mephiles. He told you,
thinking you were Knuckles, that you wanted to "share an idea" with him. When you hung up, you knew he meant he wanted
to kill him, but so did you! Anyway, the cell phone business made Knuckles open the door (holding the Hammer for safety),
and see you. One argument later, you were knocked out.
When you woke up, Mephiles had come and gone, still thinking you were Knuckles. Knuckles had gone back to the bedroom,
and talked to Amy some more. Still, as you were awake, you realized he left the hammer outside! BUT, if you were
to have picked it up, your fingerprints would be left on it. So, you managed to avoid that, AND frame Mephiles and
Amy by dipping your hands (or the hammer handle) in oil. But, the oil dripped to the floor of the apartment, resulting in
the oil drips everywhere. Knuckles opened his door, saw you with the hammer, and tried to plead. BOP! That little piggy was
no more.
Amy knew you were there, and locked the door. You eventually gave up, put the hammer next to Knuckles' body, and left.
Amy eventually left.
As for the blood stains... when Knuckles wacked you with the hammer, you did some skidding across his carpet and
kitchen tiles. They were JUST for you; the police got confused with the coincidence of Knuckles dying at the other end
of the trail.
[everyone stares at SShade]
[Tikal slowly claps]
Tikal: Very well done, missus.
SShade: And there's more proof.
You can be sure that you are one to hold a grudge, because earlier, when I said we can prove you killed Knuckles,
you gained a grudge against me. So, you wanted ME to prove you killed him. Amazing, isn't it?
[Tikal is furious]
Tikal: Th..that's not true! I... I don't hold grudges! I... I don't!
[she nervously looks around the room]
[pause]
[she dives at SShade, and starts attacking; security manages to grab her, the screen fades out]
[later, in the courtroom....]
Bowser: Damn. I can't believe she actually killed her own boyfriend...
SShade: We girls are more complex than you guys think.
Bowser: Um.... I see. Uh... what does this mean?
Tails: It means, your honor.... I lost. Silver won. Amy doesn't get a guilty verdict.
Bowser: Oh. All right. Amy Rose, you are hereby....
["NOT GUILTY" appears on-screen as Bowser says it]
[everyone cheers]
[fade-out]
[black screen, the following appears as a typewriter noise types it in, "Friday, 12:34 PM, Defense Lounge No.3"]
Amy: Thank you SO much, Silver! *hug*
Silver: It was nothing...really! Shade did all the work.
SShade: That's exactly right. But... you did a good job, too.
[she remembers something]
SShade: Of course! I was supposed to write this stuff down and bring it back to Mec-- uh... "Mister EAD."
Silver: Don't worry, I wrote it all down while you thought of everything.
SShade: Oh, that's good. Chaosky?
[Chaosky runs up to her]
Chy: Good afternoon, chief! Great job out there!
SShade: C'mon, we've gotta go back to the Stardust Eggman.
[they do, and find Mecha Knuckles]
MK: Hey, miss detective lady. What took ya so long?
SShade: Silver's assistant bailed out on him, so I had to help him defend Amy.
Chy: We took notes! *hands him notes*
MK: Oh. So... *skims through* ....WHAT!? Mephiles DIDN'T do it!?
Chy: She shocked me, too.
SShade: A simple puzzle, really. It was obvious once I heard him say he found the body in the kitchen. 'Cause not even HE would get a kitchen and a living room confused.
MK: Nice job. Listen, I got a secret for ya. I was his assistant.
SShade: YOU bailed out? Why?
MK: I noticed how you solved the card puzzle, so I decided to REALLY test you. Looks like I was right to trust you, then.
Chy: Mecha, I got a question for ya.
MK: Shoot.
Chy: What's the reward for doing this?
MK: Oh-ho! Thought I was gonna send you home with no reward, huh? I ain't THAT evil. I'll give you fifty bucks each and some more information on the G-A project.
The G-A Project, part two (File #1191212-38115)
Someone brought this project back to life, all right. Someone on the inside. This person probably works for the CIA, and is
very serious about his or her work. This person certainly put a lot of thought into how to release the animals, from the
looks of it. Then again, that might not be true. Alls I know is... when this project is finished, your gardens will be, too.
SShade: "When this project is finished, your gardens will be, too." You mean... these animals will destroy our gardens?
MK: Yeah. I know more about this project than you think, but I'll only tell ya when I know you're ready.
Chy: Are YOU the one behind everything?
MK: Do I work for the CIA?
Chy: DO you?
MK: Trust me, kid. I don't.
SShade: We'll just have to trust you. But... what do you mean "when we're ready?"
MK: Ha ha... you must be ready just to know what "ready" MEANS. Keep solving more puzzles, and it'll come to you, just like my information.
Chy: But... where is our next puzzle?
MK: Beats me.
SShade: Well, thanks for your help.
[they leave]
[pause]

[SShade returns]
MK: Back so soon? Heh heh heh...
[Mecha gives her the money, and she leaves]
Chy: So, chief... where we going now?
SShade: Let's check on the gardens.
[they return to the Lobby, and nothing is different]
[....except the two new guards standing outside the Dark Garden doors]
SShade: Hey.... don't I know you?
Guard1: Probably. We were first in Season 1, for the first few episodes. Then, we went on vacation.
Guard2: Just got back from vacation, and all these tigers and penguins are everywhere!
SShade: Yeah, the tigers are-- penguins? What?
Chy: THE TIGERS ARE PENGUINS!? AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
SShade: Calm down. Looks like the second wave of animals are here.
Guard2: Wait... I know you! You're that girl from the court! Dude, I was in the jury!
Chy: No way! I was in the jury, too!
Guard2: Yeah, yeah.
SShade: What are you, a fan?
Guard2: Of course! The name's "Zagu." Don't ask, won't tell.
SShade: So, what can I do for you, Zagu?
Zagu: Come with me.
[SShade and Chaosky follow Zagu into the Neutral Garden]
Zagu: I was doing my daily patrol, and found THIS.
[under the waterfall is a dead Omochao]
Chy: Whoa, an Omochao! Haven't seen those guys in the whole show!
Zagu: I know, right? Still, I thought it was pretty weird, so I took a closer look. I found burn marks on his face, and his wind-up thing has been FORCED off.
SShade: I see. The cause of death?
Zagu: That's the strangest thing-- everything checks out. The burn marks are only second-degree, the wind-up thing isn't necessary for their survival, and he's STILL BREATHING.
Chy: So, how is he dead?
Zagu: No pulse.
[a chill goes up their spines]
SShade: N..no pulse? Yet he's still breathing?
Chy: Wait... how are we sure Omochao even HAVE pulses?
Zagu: Just trust me, dude. They do.
DJ: Yeah, I made it so they do, okay? Just to make this puzzle work. It'll probably end up as a retcon, but who cares?
SShade: *sigh* Looks like I got one strange mystery on my hands.
MYSTERY: Omoddeath
(Omo Odd Death)
[cut to SShade waving a new gadget around]
Chy: What's that, Shade?
SShade: It's my "Scan-o-motron" gadget. It scans for things not visible to the naked eye.

By the rocks: Remains of an unidentified gas
By the waterfall: Remains of an unidentified gas, remains of volcanic rock, rapid increase in temperature

SShade: Unidentified gas!?
Zagu: Yeah, I looked into that, and discovered it was this weird gas that, when inhaled, completely stops ALL breathing. Really weird, huh?
Chy: In other words, stay away from the waterfall.
Zagu: Oh, the gas is gone. But, yeah, stay away from the waterfall. That rapid increase in temperature? Burns like HELL, man.
SShade: Extremely odd. None of this weird stuff was here before. But, it looks like a suicide so far.
Chy: Wait! Hang on.... the volcanic rock. They're REMAINS of volcanic rock, so... the rock isn't there anymore?
Zagu: Nah, it's all gone.
SShade: So... the rock gave the change in temperature, but how is it staying? And how did it appear? And disappear?
Chy: We need more clues.
[SShade looks around, and finds nothing]
SShade: There ARE no clues, Chaosky.
Chy: WHAT?! NO WAY! There's GOTTA be a clue! Somewhere!
[Zagu starts reading a newspaper]
Zagu: Huh.
SShade: What?
Zagu: Oh, it's nothing. It's just... they relaunched the ARK. That's freaking awesome.
SShade: Oh, they DID, did they? Well, that's pretty cool.
Chy: Um... Shade, can we go back to the mystery?
SShade: *sigh* I don't think I can figure-- wait. The ARK? The "ARK" ARK? As in... SPACE COLONY ARK?
Zagu: Yeah, why?
SShade: *snaps* Chaosky, I think I have an idea.
