doolinxShady Cross Paths: We Heavily Shade the Competition! Skip this little intro.

[you see a small building; the sign on the building reads "Shady Cross Paths"]

[you walk across the parking lot in the blazing heat]

[as you open the doors, you feel the gentle breeze of the air conditioner blowing through your hair]

[the clerk, a small, gray, Dark chao, notices you coming in and waves]

Shade: Hey. How ya doin'? Welcome to my little shop.

[Shade leaves the counter]

Shade: Here, lemme show ya what we got.

[Shade takes you to a cardboard cut-out of the Dark Garden with Shade and Chao in it; it has shelves in it; the shelves hold some DVDs]

Shade: Right here's the Dark Chao Adventures Season 1: Shade and Chao, 4-Disc Box Set.

You: Uh... what?

Shade: DCA Season 1. And it's not really a DVD, either. It's just Microsoft Notepad.

You: Oh.

[Shade leads you further into the store; he takes you to a cardboard shelf cut-out thing of Dark and Mephiles in the future Dark Garden]

Shade: Dark Chao Adventures Season 2: Dark and Mephiles, 4-Disc Box Set.

[next, a cardboard shelf of four shadowy figures and an army of mysterious chao and robots]

Shade: This here's Dark Chao Adventures Season 3: The Beta Avengers, 4-Disc Box Set.

[then, a cardboard shelf of a Hero/Fly and a Hero/Swim in a city with a screaming, human face behind them]

Shade: A fan favorite-- Dark Chao Adventures Season 4: Purflee and Luis, 4-Disc Box Set.

[a cardboard shelf of a Dark/Fly with lots of condor parts and a red Dark chao standing in an endless highway]

Shade: Dark Chao Adventures Season 5: Echo and Red, 4-Disc Box Set.

[a cardboard shelf of Shade as a Dark/Swim, holding a crowbar, and wearing a bandanna]

Shade: Dark Chao Adventures Season 6: The Grey Journey, 4-Disc Box Set.

[next to it is a poster of the same Shade, but next to him is a robotic Sonic chao, arms crossed]

["COMING SOON" are the only words on the poster]

You: What's this one?

Shade: I'm not entirely sure. It just appeared on this wall one day, along with a note.

[Shade hands you the note; it reads, "DCA 6 ???"]

[Shade now leads you to a BIIIG corner of the room]

You: ..whoa, what's all the space for?

Shade: We're making room for things to come. We've already got about.. a good chunk of this corner covered, though. Here.

[Shade shows you a huge, huge, HUGE card-board cut-out of Shade, Dark/Swim, headband and crowbar, back turned]

[next to the cut-out is ANOTHER huge cut-out-- this one, with shelves, of Shadow (the chao), an unsure look on his face]

[the cut-outs are in front of a wall-spanning poster of Dark, Red, Mecha Knuckles, the Tails Doll, and Mephiles on the left, several dark figures (Eggman, Echo, and a cloaked figure are the ones you recognize right away), a tall man in a business suit, a white Dark chao, Chao (as a Dark chao), and a Rebel chao on the right; in the background are seven green chaos drives, many pictures of various locales, and a trilby hat.]

Shade: Check it out-- Dark Chao Adventures Season 7: The End, 7-Disc Box Set.

You: Whoa, whoa, WHOA. SEVEN? .."THE END?!"

Shade: Twenty-nine episodes spanning six discs, plus the 2010 Halloween special in the seventh. It's a long season.

You: Is it really the end?

Shade: It might be. Then again, we seem to have a lot more space left in here, don't we? C'mon, more to see.

[Shade pushes you past a single copy of a CD with "DCA8" written on in black marker]

Shade: Nothing to see here, nothing to see here.

[Shade takes you to a cardboard shelf of Shade, Dark, Metal Sonic, Mecha Knuckles, and several cloaked figures standing back-to-back in a city; a screaming face and a gory silhouette are in the background]

You: ...whoa.

Shade: This is the DVD for DCA09: The Secret City. The MOVIE, except without the movie.

[Shade takes you to a cardboard poster of a scene]

[Scene: Left side-- Dark army, Right side-- Hero army, in the background-- Metal Sonic, Mecha Knuckles, Tails Doll, Mephiles, Chao Fortune Teller; in the center of it all is the silhouette of a chao, inside the silhouette is a question mark]

Shade: This here's where we're gonna put Dark Chao Adventures: War of the Gardens, when it comes out.

You: What's it about?

Shade: It's a game where you play as a chao you make up. You choose a side, and try to end the war.

You: Cool. Anything else?

Shade: Yeah, we got demos of it.

You: Sweet.

[next up is a cardboard shelf of Shade and a third-party chao standing in the midst of a battle]

You: Who's this guy?

Shade: That's Dark-Hawk. A fan-made chao. He's pretty cool. Definitely really reliable in a pinch.

You: And what's this thing of?

Shade: Dark Chao Role-Playing Game Volume 1: Starting the Army. The chronicles of what happened before DCA.

[next to it is a cardboard shelf of a bunch of third-party chao in a training facility]

Shade: Dark Chao Role-Playing Game Volume 2: The Glory Days. This volume's EXTRA-LONG. Takes forever to read, trust me.

[then, a cardboard shelf of a bunch of third-party chao in a scribble]

Shade: Dark Chao Role-Playing Game Volume 3: Fan Service. This one's awfully weird. It's mostly fan-made, you see.

[a cardboard shelf of the third-party chao inside a TV]

Shade: Dark Chao Role-Playing Game Volume 4: Hi-Def. Things get mysterious.

[finally, a cardboard shelf of the third-party chao, all equipped with radios, in front of the silhouette of an alien]

Shade: Dark Chao Role-Playing Game Volume 5: One Last Mission. This is supposedly the final volume.

[next, a cardboard shelf of Mephiles]

Shade: Dark Chao Adventures Episode 10: Attack of Doctor Phyllis, DEVELOPER'S SECRETS Edition! Includes an interview with DJay at the end.

[then, he takes you to a smaller cardboard shelf displaying Kirby]

You: What the heck's THAT?

Shade: Hoshi no Kaabii: Shadow Shutdown. DJay makes us display it. Personally, I think it's too long, and not that funny. Besides, it's not even complete.

[Shade takes you back to the counter, where a few things are on small stands]

[you take a look at them: The Dark Chao Adventures Handbook, and Dark Chao Adventures Episode 18 BETA]

Shade: So, please, download something. They're all free.
